This pretty tomato came from my garden and I’m going to use it to make my favorite sandwich ever: Tomato and mayo on good bread. Lots of salt, a little pepper. Tomato still warm from the sun. Yum!

Why do prunes have such a bad rap? There just innocent little dried plums that happen to be oh-so sweet and delicious. When did they get associated with grandmas and, um, digestion? Research shows that eating prunes may get you into a smaller size of jeans. Plus they’re good for your heart and your bones. And they’re packet with antioxidants. In the summer months my tastes turn tropical. If you’re looking for a taste of the tropics, turn to the symbol of hospitality; the pineapple.

Choose pineapples that are slightly soft to the touch with crisp green leaves and no yellow or brown tips. It should have a strong, fresh pineapple smell.

Here is a book that belongs on your shelf. Pops! Icy Treats for Everyone by Krystina Castella, has inspired me no end. I love it. Even my producer, a non-cook, can’t stop thinking about the Pops featured in this pretty little book. Krystina shared her recipe for PB & Sesame Raspberry Pops.
